Firmengeschichte
Harald
Rapp, geboren 1952 in Mengen, verheiratet, 3 Kinder, absolvierte nach einer
abgeschlossenen Berufsausbildung als Werkzeugmacher eine Lehre bei der
Orgelbaufirma Roman Ilisch in Berlin. Nach einem Praktikum bei der Fa. Karl
Schuke vertiefte Harald Rapp seine Kenntnisse in den USA bei der Firma
Steiner & Reck Inc. in Louisville, Kentucky. Nach fast 3- jährigem
Aufenthalt kehrte er in seine Süddeutsche Heimat zurück. Um seine Vorstellungen vom traditionellen, handwerklichen Orgelbau besser verwirklichen zu können, machte er sich 1985 in Mengen- Ennetach selbständig. Seither entstanden in seiner Werkstatt über 20 neue Orgeln und Positive, überwiegend für den süddeutschen Raum. Auch international ist Harald Rapp tätig. So stehen in USA bisher drei Truhenpositive, sowie weitere Orgeln in Ungarn (Fürstenschloss von Esterhazy in Fertöd) und in Lissabon.

History Harald Rapp, born in 1952 in Mengen, married, 3 Children. After working a couple of years as a professional toolmaker, Harald decided to take a new challenge to step in his fathers and his grandfathers footsteps to become an organ builder. For that in 1972 he started an apprenticeship with Roman Ilisch, a small organ company in Berlin, which he finished in 1975. After a short internship with the Schuke Organ Company in Berlin he immigrated to the USA to work with Steiner Organs Inc. in Louisville, Kentucky. The call of his father brought him back to Germany to intend the Master classes and join in at his fathers work at the Späth Organ Company in Mengen, his hometown.
To realize his ideas of high quality organ building, combined with the experience of three generations he started his own business in1985. During the last twenty years more than 30 organs where build. There where new organs as well as restorations. His work expands throughout Germany but there are also instruments in USA, in Portugal and in Hungary. |
